Hello guys,

I’ve recently acquired an edu.pl domain, and managed to put up a fake site resembling a school. I applied for jetbrains education via GitHub, and after 1 day I got a reply denying the pull request saying that it was suspected of fraud. Can someone provide any tips to avoid it? Should I age the domain, or maybe make a better site? https://alphaword.edu.pl is the domain.

astyx If this mail is processed and after this, you get a “fraud suspected” warning then the issue is with your IP, details, and proofs.

astyx It won’t work I guess. Generally, Github is tied with the VARIOUS EDUCATION DEPARTMENTS/UNIVERSITIES.

EDIT: Try making a NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION and get verified by google. Once done you can apply for the github and other services.

Also, you can buy a cracked account for JetBrains.

astyx Yes your domain name is .edu.pl and this is a temp mail easily available on many sites.

xa- Yeah I still remember getting a CANVA EDU through a temporary edu.pl last year.

But now it is patched. He made a mistake by registering his domain name to an already temporary-based domain (edu.pl) which has been blacklisted by Github and others.

Hey guys, thanks @XDJ and xa- for your responses, but I did not apply for a GitHub education license, but rather the method jetbrains uses to add the domain. You have to make a pull request to their repository (jetbrains swot repo) with the files generated in the website which they verify and merge. The edu.pl domain was bought by me and is not the 10minuteemail one. Also, there have been successful pull requests for edu.pl domains, as recent as 8-10 days ago.
