I need help recovering my data from Mega
Here’s what happened:
- I uploaded some important files on April 19, 2024, to my free MEGA account.
- I didn’t log in to the account for a while and only accessed it again in July 2025.
- When I logged in, all my files were gone — not even in the Rubbish Bin.
- My account is still active, so I’m confused why the files were deleted automatically. without any notification on my email
I mostly use Google Drive, but I used MEGA for extra storage at that time. I did NOT manually delete anything.
Does anyone know if there’s any way to recover these files?
I didn’t know that Mega deletes data automatically without sending any email notification or prior information .
My account is still active, but all my data is gone. I don’t understand why Mega did this without any warning or notification — especially since the data was less than 20 GB, and mega gives 20 GB free cloud to all users for free storage, they deleted it without even sending a single email.
Also, has anyone had success contacting MEGA support for such issues?
Any advice or experience with this would be really appreciated.
