Been testing different ways to keep some movies/shows offline lately (mostly for flights, bad hotel Wi-Fi, and local backups).
Tried browser extensions, random online downloaders, and some sketchy “free” tools… most were either full of popups, low quality, or just stopped working after updates.
Lately I’ve been using SameMovie, mainly the Record mode.
A few things I liked:
Works better than random web downloaders
Easier if you already stream from legit platforms
Saves to normal video formats (so playback is easier)
No weird site redirects or junk installers
Decent for keeping local copies for offline watching
Not saying it’s the only option, but it felt cleaner than bouncing between cracked tools or shady movie sites.
Still curious what others here use for offline backups / travel viewing — browser-based stuff, recorders, or something else?
