Step 1: You will need to access the form provided by Instagram at
https://help.instagram.com/732454618598400
Step 2: Click on the form to open it.
Step 3: When prompted with the question “Was this helpful?”, select “No”.
Step 4: Select “These solutions don’t work”.
Step 5: Copy and paste the following complaint into the form, filling in the necessary information:
“Dear Instagram, I am trying to secure the Meta verified badge on my account as many people are impersonating me and I require the badge for verification. I reside in {COUNTRY WHERE YOU USE THE VPN ON / USA / AUSTRALIA / NEW ZEALAND} and I am unsure why the option to apply for the badge is not appearing in my account settings. My identity is being stolen by bad actors for financial gains, and I urgently require your assistance with applying for the badge and resolving this issue. My Instagram username is {YOUR USERNAME}, and I kindly request your help. Thank you in advance. IG: {YOUR USERNAME}”.
Step 6: Repeat this process multiple times a day, for at least 2 business days. It is recommended to attempt this 10 times per business day, at maximum.
Step 7: Wait for 1-3 business days after your attempts. Instagram may add the option to apply for the Meta verification badge in your account settings. Once this happens, you will be able to apply for the badge directly.
Important notes:
- Do not use the form in Safari.
- Use this method during business days for the highest chances of success.
- Attempt this method between 09:00-16:00 in California (USA), New Zealand, or Australia for the highest chances of success.
- Use a VPN if you do not reside in the USA, New Zealand, or Australia. Nord VPN is a recommended VPN for this, and set the location to a major city in one of the countries where Meta has rolled out the subscription model for messages (e.g., California, Wellington, or Sydney).
- Attempt this method using both your phone and computer.
- Leave some time between attempts and switch devices for each attempt.
- Ensure that you use the email associated with your Instagram account and your legal name when attempting this method. You will need these for verifying your profile later. Additionally, send along your real government ID for verification. Make sure that your face and ID are clear and visible in the photo.
