Its not actually a direct issue with a site but I found something which can cause Huge Harm to this site and I want to throw a suggestion based on my experience and I’m sure if you implement it, it will help to keep this site safe, secure in a long run:
Let me explain:
First scenario is: All the links shared in this forum either by Admin or other members they all are almost naked links (aks direct links) so when anyone clicks on that link and visit to that very site referer goes to that site which is logged in that server’s log so in ‘no time’ that site owner can see from where all this traffic is coming and if a direct link is shared in this forum then that site owner can either raise DMCA complaint (with Google etc.. to de-list this site or with a site host where this site is being hosted - to remove this site) against this forum or may be remove or change his site download structure to prevent any further download. Which is huge penalty for this forum and I don’t want that.
And Second Scenario is: even if download is being hosted on mega or Gdrive or any cloud service and if someone reports it then they do take action because these giant companies consider ‘this stuff which is shared in this forum’ (which we love coz it educates us or helps to get educated) is piracy
Solution: so my suggestion is to implement a service called anonymity surfing which is free BTW and there many sites which provide this free service. By using this service a Suffix will be added in front of any link which is being shared in this forum and then when a user clicks on that very link No Referer will be sent.
For ex: these are some of the site names which provide this service: anonymiz, nullrefer, referless
I didn’t mention complete site links may be its not allowed here so If you search online you will find many more sites provide this kind of service, you can use any of them.
